Who we Are

Vision of the organization

Having a society where the rights of the vulnerable persons and youth are appreciated, guaranteed, protected and also where such persons are accorded opportunity to live in dignity through easy access to health care, education, information, shelter and other basic needs.

Mission of the Organization

FNF-K exists to champion, lobby for the rights, and specific general needs of the welfare of Widows, Orphans, Teen mothers and Youth through high impact responsive programs that mitigate the impact of poverty and HIV/AIDS

Friends of the Needy is a small but competent organization of volunteers qualified in the areas of community development, social work, and public health.

FNF’s volunteers have decided to try and rectify the perilous situation of poor and needy communities in Kenya. This is done in practice by mobilizing and educating them in the rural areas to explore their personal, social and political environment so that they become self-reliant, self-aware and healthy.

The organization was founded in January 2012 on the idea that each human being has the potential of improving  his/her life regardless of the gender or marital status and with the vision of ensuring healthy and self reliant of the poor.

In an effort to break this cycle of poverty FNF offers services and programs to the participants. Our goal is to empower the poor to take control of their lives positively as well as the community as a whole.

Unless we break the cycle, history will repeat itself  when the lives and the rights of children are at stake, there must be no silent witnesses. What is needed now are increased efforts to promote youth participation and commitment; more services aimed at youth; more parental involvement; more education and information, using schools and other sites; more protection for girls, orphaned children and young women; and more partnerships with people with HIV and AIDS.
